Bridgend County Borough Council joins forces with New Holland
New Holland dealer JG Plant has secured a deal to support Bridgend County Borough Council with a number of Groundcare machines to ensure the community is kept in tip-top shape.

Bridgend County Borough Council, in South Wales, recently purchased eight New Holland machines through JG Plant, which has served the local community’s agriculture and groundcare needs for 47 years.

The Council recently took posession of a New Holland T5060, a T5030 with wrap-around mower, and a total of six T4030s. All the tractors are fitted with turf tyres, which reduce compaction and protect the grassland.

JG Plant Sales Manager, Terry Coles, said: “We have been serving the Bridgend community since 1965, and Bridgend County Council has been a key part of that for well over 30 years.

“The Council was seeking to update its fleet of groundcare machines, and had a range of particular requirements – including brakes on the front axles, turf tyres and particular loaders, as well as ongoing servicing. New Holland’s extensive product range covered all of its specification needs, and I believe our exemplary customer service also went a long way to helping secure the deal.”

According to Anthony Thomas, Bridgend County Borough Council’s Fleet Manager, it was the quality and performance of New Holland’s product range, as well as the service offering at JG Plant, which sealed the deal.

“We were looking at a range of factors as part of the tender process, including quality, unit performance and ongoing servicing, and the New Holland products came out on top in technical performance and features,” Anthony said.

“Plus, JG Plant are a good local dealer which has operated in Bridgend for many years, and we were very pleased with their overall offering and support. Our new machines will predominantly be used for grounds maintenance work on sports fields and pitches across the Bridgend County, as well as general ground and turfcare.”

Commenting on the deal, Nigel Fawdry, New Holland Sales Area Manager, said: “We are delighted to continue supporting Bridgend County Borough Council with its groundcare requirements. It is also pleasing to see the recognition of JG Plant’s dedicated team, which has built longstanding customer relationships over the past nearly 50 years.”
