JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – (March 13, 2012) – New Holland Agriculture announced yesterday at the official inauguration of Ntlo ya Lerato Rhino Orphanage the donation of a TT55 tractor to support the wildlife reserve located in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. The tractor will be used for general maintenance of the extensive territory of the sanctuary, whose name means “place of love” in Pedi. The reserve takes in rhinos orphaned as a result of poaching, and rears them to adulthood, preparing them to be released back into the wild.
New Holland’s distributor, New Holland South Africa, and their dealer network also rallied to support the sanctuary and will provide at no cost the scheduled servicing and maintenance, including parts, that will be needed for the donated tractor. In addition, dealer Janpret Trekkers will donate a purpose-built implement.
Sanctuaries like the Rhino Orphanage are vital to the survival of this endangered species. As an agricultural equipment solutions provider, New Holland has a long standing relationship with South Africa and feels the responsibility to support this initiative that helps safeguard this country’s rich wildlife and nature for future generations.
