In honor and memory of our nation's military and first responders, New Holland Agriculture announced today a 9-11 Remembrance Program that will provide discounts and contributions in grateful recognition of their service.
Effective on September 11, 2012 and continuing through Veterans Day, November 11, 2012, New Holland will offer active and retired military personnel, veterans, paid and volunteer firefighters, police officers, and their families, a $911 discount on the purchase of New Holland Boomer™ compact tractor models and select New Holland utility tractors. New Holland will also donate $250 to the Fisher House Foundation for each of these tractors sold in the United States during the discount period.
The Fisher House Foundation is best known for its network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers where families can stay while a loved one is receiving treatment. The Foundation also ensures that families of wounded service men and women are not burdened with unnecessary expense during a time of crisis.
"This discount and contribution program is our way of thanking our nation's heroes for their sacrifice and dedication to our protection and freedom," said Abe Hughes, Vice President of New Holland Agricultural Business in North America. "We feel it's fitting that we step forward once again to contribute to not only the courageous members of the military and emergency services personnel, but also to the tremendous work being undertaken by the Fisher House Foundation."
The New Holland tractor discount is available on new, New Holland New Holland Boomer™ compact tractor 20-50 models, T1500 Series compact tractors, WORKMASTER™ Series, PowerStar™ model T4.75 and T4000 Series tractors sold by an authorized New Holland dealer. Veterans, military personnel and first responders will need to show a valid, government-issued military ID card or other proof of service to receive the discount. See your local New Holland dealer for details.
About Fisher House
The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
There is at least one Fisher House at every major military medical center to assist families in need and to ensure that they are provided with the comforts of home in a supportive environment. Annually, the Fisher House program serves more than 12,000 families, and have made available over three million days of lodging to family members since the program originated in 1990. By law, there is no charge for any family to stay at a Fisher House operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs; and Fisher House Foundation uses donations to reimburse the individual Fisher Houses operated by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. No family pays to stay at any Fisher House.
