Alberta cash crop producer Arden Myers recently purchased two New Holland combines, and encountered an electrical issue with one during harvest.

During harvest, with rain predicted in the three-day forecast, a FR Series self-propelled forage harvester needed to have the main gearbox replaced.

"The total downtime was about 24 hours from start to finish. Without the New Holland Top Service program, we would have been lucky to receive the new gearbox in four days. We figure we saved about 30% in corn production by getting the forage harvester back into harvest mode before the rain came and harvest conditions deteriorated."

A cash grain producer was well into his soybean harvest when the bottom sieve of his New Holland CR9060 combine broke. He called his dealer and found that there were no bottom sieves available in stock. Nevertheless, by the following morning, the combine was back up and running, less than 24 hours after the breakdown.

Thanks to New Holland Top Service, an employee from the combine factory in Grand Island, Neb., delivered the needed part in his pickup truck.

Even when a combine went down at the start of the Memorial Day weekend, New Holland Top Service 24/7 assistance got the combine back up and running fast. "The dealer loaned us a combine so we could keep cutting, and we were able to use it at no expense. They called New Holland Top Service, got the parts in, and had our combine back to us in less than 48 hours, tops.

Douglas Lake Equipment in Dawson Creek, B.C., used New Holland Top Service to resolve a rotor belt issue. It was a weekend, and the CR970 was working in barley when the unit went down. To the combine owner's delight and astonishment, the part arrived at the dealership early the next morning, and he was headed back to the field by noon.

"If we had not gone through New Holland Top Service, even with a unit down order, we would not have seen the part until Wednesday. By Wednesday it was raining. He was combining barley and he finished it around Monday noon, and that's when the rain moved in. Our customer was quite impressed with New Holland Top Service, as were we. It worked very well."
