88C Series Floating Cutterbar Draper Header

OVERVIEW

UNRIVALED FLOTATION FOR ON-GROUND CROPS

UNRIVALED FLOTATION FOR ON-GROUND CROPS

The flexible 88C floating cutterbar draper header is the ideal match for high-capacity New Holland combines harvesting on-ground crops. Available in 30-, 36-, 42- and 45-foot widths, the 88C header hugs ground contours to capture every bit of crop and provide consistent, head-first material flow from field to feederhouse.

ADJUSTABLE FLOTATION

The 88C header's floating cutterbar provides 4 to 6 inches of vertical float to follow ground contours and retrieve the entire crop. A lateral and vertical leaf spring suspension system allows the header to float independently of the combine to cut and gather more crop, and reduce the risk of cutterbar damage.

BALANCED, CLEAN CUTTING

A hydraulically driven, double-knife drive Schumacher cutterbar system on the 88C header delivers smooth, clean cutting for easier feeding. Bolted, heat-treated knife sections with two cutting edges—fine and coarse serrated—provide a balanced cut and no upward pressure. With a 1,400-spm knife speed, a 3-5/16-inch stroke and a roller spacer bar that reduces knife resistance, high-capacity cutting performance is ensured.

SMOOTH, EVEN FEEDING

The 88C header includes a six-bat UII plastic reel that promotes smooth feeding to the cutterbar. A HCC UII reel is available for all header sizes except the 45-foot model. The automatic height control feature responds with cutterbar sensors.

RUGGED CONSTRUCTION FOR INCREASED DURABILITY

Hydraulically driven drapers are constructed of durable, 42-inch rubberized polyester to handle all types of crops and conditions. A unique 84-inch center deck and 90-inch feeding auger provide consistent, head-first material flow in both cereal crops and bulkier crops, such as peas, canola and mustard.

CONVENIENT DEBRIS REMOVAL

A hydraulic trap door, which serves as a rock trap in the header during normal operation, opens when the header is reversed. This allows you to dump debris in front of the center deck after reversing the header. A variable displacement piston pump also is reversible and runs two parallel circuits for less heat and reduced pressure loss.

LESS GROUND DISTURBANCE, EASIER TRANSPORT

The 88C header's castoring gauge wheels eliminate gouging in the field during turns for less field damage. Header height is easily adjusted with a jack. An optional built-in hitch, jack and axle (available on 30- and 36-foot models) allow easy transport. Plus, storage and highway trailers are available for all header sizes.
