SMOOTH, FAST AND DURABLE CORN HEADER

The rugged 98D corn header is designed to get under downed corn, picking it up better than the competition with less trash intake for more combine capacity. Fast, smooth feeding and quick, easy service help you complete harvest faster with the 98D head.

RESILIENT POLYETHYLENE CONSTRUCTION

The 98D corn header’s divider snouts are constructed of durable polyethylene. The slippery surface of its shields, fenders and points allow smooth, fast feeding, so you can increase your ground speed. And because the polyethylene construction absorbs impact, ears don't bounce out of the corn head for less loss. The color-impregnated polyethylene never rusts, and does not show dings and damage for less repair and higher resale value.

EASY SERVICE AND TRANSPORT

Without using tools, the shields on the 98D header flip up and out of the way for fast, complete servicing and easy transport. Convenient props hold the shields in place so you can work quickly and confidently. It's also easy to adjust the height of the points without tools. An oil bath row unit chain drive provides long, dependable operation.

RUGGED DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

The 98D header features heavy-duty cast iron row unit gearboxes to drive and support the stalk rolls. The stalk rolls are heat-treated and straight-fluted for more aggressive feeding than tapered stalk rolls. Their unique two-piece cantilevered design reduces replacement costs and improves servicing. The redesigned Hi-Flow front stalk roll spiral and longer stalk rolls with front bearing support (pinching style) enable faster harvesting speeds. Adjustable stalk roll supports also are included.

TWO STALK ROLL STYLES

Choose the stalk roll style to match your needs.

The 98D fluted roll does not cut or break the crop in dry or diseased crop conditions, which means you take less trash into the combine.

The new 98D pinching roll, which replaces the 98C knife rolls option, features pinching knives that crimp and cut into stalks for faster residue break down. The 98D pinching roll is ideal for minimum-till and no-till systems.

MORE HIGH-PERFORMANCE FEATURES

Additional 98D header features include:

  • New flat deck plates to reduce header loss.
  • Standard hydraulically adjustable stripper plates for improved performance in varying crop conditions.
  • Outstanding capacity and reliability of row unit slip clutches.
  • Up to 50% increased life for gathering chains with chrome pins.
  • Larger rigid protection plates for better coverage and increased strength.
