V-Tine Flail Conditioning System
MegaCutter™ disc mower-conditioners make it easy to maintain optimum conditioning and faster drying with convenient adjustment of conditioning intensity. A dual-speed 600- and 900-RPM conditioning rotor drive is standard equipment on the MegaCutter™ 512, allowing for either gentle handling of delicate legumes or aggressive conditioning of more robust grass hays. The MegaCutter™ 530 requires an optional kit to achieve the 600-RPM rotor speed recommended for use in delicate crops. An adjustable hood above the flail rotor allows for easy adjustment of the amount of conditioning action.
Flail tines are positioned at an angle to the rotor’s center, providing increased outward crop pressure against the conditioning hood and improving swath and windrow formation.
Semi-swinging flail tines allow obstructions to pass, for better protection compared to fixed poly or steel tines. And unlike conventional, free-swinging tines, they cannot swing back over center, but are held in the ideal place by centrifugal force for efficient and effective conditioning and uniform swath and windrow formation.
