A combine operator asks…
How do I take my harvest information and transfer it to my desktop computer?
The harvest is over, crops are in the bin, and it’s time to relax a bit. Well, maybe not quite yet. Now is the time to take the valuable information you’ve gathered during the harvest with your Intelliview™ or IntelliView™ Plus II monitor and transfer it to your desktop.
It’s easy to download the tracking information to your PC so you can look at maps, see your yield, moistures and other factors that will help you assess and understand variations so you can make the best management decisions.
Data collected in IntelliView Plus II and IntelliView PLM color displays are compatible with New Holland PLM and New Holland PFS Office Software, as well as Ag Leader SMS software. (The New Holland PLM software comes with the monitor.)
Here’s how to do transfer data:
1. Click File - Open or Open Card.
These Open and Open Card icons are also located directly below the file Menu.
If using a card reader, the default drive the software checks for files when the Open Card icon is selected can be set by going to Tools - General Options - Paths - Open Card Settings.
2. Select the proper location for the yield files that are to be read in. This may be from a card or other source where the files are saved.
3. Select the proper format by selecting the appropriate company or file type.
Note: The software can read in file types from many different companies.
4. Select the file to be read in. For Voyager files, click on the index.vyg, and all of the data on the card will be pulled into the software.
5. Click Open.
6. Click Next to begin processing the file into the program.
7. Voyager 2 files can process in several other types of data when importing yield, and planting information such as Boundaries, Prescription files, as well as Guidance lines created in the field.
Check the types that you want to read in, and say OK. The Original Voyager files will not show these options.
8. Click the Add New button to create a new Grower and Farm if needed. (Voyager 2 files will already contain Grower and Farm names used in the display, Voyager files from Universal displays will show the Farm names only.)
Click OK after all items have been entered.
9. Click Next.
Note: The File I of X (X = # of files selected) windows should now appear. In this window are all the fields that the monitor has yield information for in this particular file. Shaded fields are fields that have been read into the system and the white lines are showing new information that is being read into the system. This procedure may take some time.
10. After the software is done processing the information, check to make sure it appears in the management tree correctly.
