New Holland announces major partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

New Holland is proud to be teaming up with PCFA to assist in the important fight against prostate cancer. The partnership will see New Holland and PCFA working together to raise awareness of prostate cancer, primarily among rural areas, where men are 20% less likely to survive the disease than those residing in metropolitan areas.

Together with PCFA, New Holland hopes to educate and inform men from across Australia about the resources and support available. New Holland will be promoting the partnership with the PCFA logo to be featured on all New Holland tractors purchased throughout its dealer network. The partnership branding will also be featured at all major New Holland events across the country in the hope of reminding and encouraging men over 50 years of age, or 40 years if they have a family history of prostate cancer, to talk to their doctor about being tested as part of their annual health check.

Australian Fodder Industry Association

The Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFIA) is the peak body for the Australian fodder industry connecting all sectors of the supply chain from seed to feed.

Since AFIA was established in 1996 our network has worked to help the fodder industry grow through sharing information, assisting trade, and promoting research and development. We also work closely with government regulators to ensure our members have a favourable environment to do business in.

In 2007 the fodder industry had an estimated value of $1.5 billion, a figure that continues to grow assisted by AFIA’s work. Over the past 15 years the export industry alone has grown from 100,000mt to 600,000mt of fodder products exported.

The fodder industry is one of the most important industries in Australian agriculture, underpinning production in dairy, livestock, horticulture and other intensive industries.

Australia's higher rainfall zones offer wonderful opportunities for farmers.

Southern Farming Systems

Southern Farming Systems

Southern Farming Systems is a farm driven, non-profit organisation helping higher rainfall farmers with practical research and information that produces sustainable results.

In 1995 the six founding members of Southern Farming Systems got together to find ways of making farming in the higher rainfall zone more profitable. Their problems were often different from those faced by farmers in other areas and different solutions would be required.

They set out to help themselves and in so doing created an organisation that now boasts 600 members in five branches across two states. It maintains international affiliations and has a strong link with the Foundation for Arable Research in New Zealand.

Southern Farming Systems’ success comes from strict adherence to the vision and objectives established by those pioneers. Its focus is totally on the higher rainfall zone. All research is of a practical nature and designed to produce long term solutions to farmers.

The Compass Cup is one of those wacky Australian events that shows our warped sense of humour.

Compass Cup

Compass Cup

Back in 1973, the local Rural Youth were looking at ways of making money for the local community, and having fun at the same time. Someone came up with the idea that hopping aboard an untrained cow and riding it would be fun. The thousands of people that have watched the Compass Cup since would definitely agree.

In the early days there was no fenced off arena, it was the crowd that kept the cows "on-track" so to speak. After many escapes down the main Adelaide to Victor Harbor road and into the streets of Mount Compass, it was recommended that a fenced arena be erected to keep the cows in.

The purpose of the Club is to provide an opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors of Fordson products to gather in the pursuance of common interest, regardless of whether or not a vehicle or any other product of this classic brand is owned by the member

Fordson Tractor Club

Fordson Tractor Club

Because the Club is for all people who have a common interest in the Fordson tractor, members do not have to own a Fordson tractor. Some of our members have a large number of tractors, or just one tractor, some just collect models, some collect Fordson original brochures; others collect Fordson tools, whilst some members are just reliving some past [e.g. when a Fordson worked on a family or other farm]. Members reside throughout Australia.

Whilst the Club is primarily for people within Australia, overseas members are most welcome.
