New Holland Agriculture officially introduced the new four-model TS6 Series tractor range to the Kenyan market at an event held on 17th August in Kisumu City. The launch, organised with New Holland distributor CMC Motors, attracted a big attendance that included over 100 potential customers and the local print and broadcast press. Management representatives from New Holland and CMC Motors were also present and the occasion was graced by H.E. Jack Raguma, Governor of Kisumu.
Federico Bellotto, New Holland Business Director for Africa &Middle East said: “The lineage of TS6 Series tractors dates back to 1965: they have gained an unassailable reputation for strength, brute power and reliability. The new Series we are launching today build on this heritage and they are customised to operate in the tough conditions here in Kenya. They offer Kenyan farmers real value for their investment: they can be depended on to work long hours tirelessly in multiple applications, in the field or on the road, in the toughest conditions; they are easy to maintain; and they come at a budget-friendly price.”
Wanjau Wahome, Group Head of Finance & Support Services of CMC Motors added: “We know that the greatest challenge facing our farmers in the Sugar Belt today is reducing the cost of production. The new TS6 Series tractors can be relied on to be very cost effective, with low fuel consumption and operating costs. A versatile powerhouse
The four TS6 Series tractors run fuel-efficient turbocharged, intercooled, Tier 3 compliant engines: four-cylinder, 4.5 litre for the TS6.110 and TS6.120, and a six-cylinder, 6.7 litre for the TS6.125 and TS6.140. These engines deliver a powerful performance ranging from 82 kW (110 hp) to 104 kW (139 hp) and maximum torque of up to 625 Nm for the most demanding applications.
The dual-pump, open-centre hydraulic system delivers all the hydraulic flow needed for the implements. For applications requiring more hydraulic power, an auxiliary 34-litre pump can be added to the 49-litre implement pump. A dedicated 34-litre steering pump ensures that the hydraulic demands of the rear implement do not affect the steering.
TS6 Series tractors can handle three-point-mounted implements with ease with the standard 2,410 kg lift capacity hitch. For heavier implements an additional lift ram can increase capacity to 3,639 kg or, if even more is needed, two lift rams can raise it to an impressive 4,647 kg.
Strong, built for flexibility in Kenya’s tough conditions
The TS6 Series tractors are known for their rock-solid construction and the new models, customised for the tough conditions found in Kenya, are able to power through every task they are given, from mowing on the roadside to loader work, from tilling to haying.
They are available in a choice of simple and easy to use transmissions to meet the different farming requirements. The standard 8x8 mechanical shuttle transmission is ideal for operations like roadside mowing and haying, where forward/reverse shuttling is not often needed. The 8x8 hydraulic shuttle provides the convenience of clutchless shifting, perfect for applications where direction changes are frequent. The 16x8 DualPower™ hydraulic shuttle transmission, with an additional underdrive gear for each forward speed, offers the optimal solution for hilly conditions and haying.
TS6 Series models are available with a choice of front axles to match different tasks. The TS6.110 and TS6.120 can be specified with the optional 2WD heavy-duty axle for heavy loader work, or a Class 3 FWD axle for even more traction and pull. The TS6.125 and TS6.140 come with the heavy-duty axle as standard, and a heavy-duty Class 4 FWD axle is also available. Also, a 98-inch rear bar axle can be specified if row spacing flexibility is needed to prevent damage to the crop and to have the option of using dual rear wheels for better flotation to protect the soil.
Comfort and simplicity come as standard
TS6 Series tractors are designed for comfort, providing plenty of legroom and a smooth ride. The flat deck platform offers excellent all-round visibility and provides a wide workstation, a mechanical suspension seat with armrests and adjustable tilt steering wheel as standard. An optional deluxe rubber floor mat reduces noise and vibration, adding to the operator’s comfort. All levers are located conveniently within easy reach.
Servicing TS6 Series tractors is simple and quick. The flip-up, one-piece hood provides easy access to all service points. The big fuel tank – 150 litres on the four-cylinder models and 235 litres on the six-cylinder ones – means that refuelling is kept to a minimum.
