Following a rewarding 2017 competition season, New Holland have signed up to partner with FMG Young Farmer of the Year for another three years.
New Holland New Zealand Operations Manager, Brett Stiven said he’s excited about the opportunity to continue expanding the ways in which New Holland is supporting the next generation of New Zealand farmers and growers.
“The FMG Young Farmer of the Year competition provides an amazing platform for farmers across the country to demonstrate their skill. As a spectator, I was really impressed with the talent and energy shown by contestants across the regional finals and grand final this year. It’s such a good sign for the future of New Zealand farming to see so much talent and enthusiasm out there” said Stiven.
New Holland also announced the introduction of their True Blue Future Farmers Support Package initiative.
“Our Future Farmers programme is all about providing growth and development opportunities for the next generation of New Zealand farmers. We’ve seen how Young Farmers Clubs across the country are working hard to create opportunities for their members, and we wanted to give them some added support to continue those efforts” said Stiven.
Each True Blue Future Farmers Support Package will include $1,500 to put towards a Young Farmers Club event, so long as its purpose is to provide learning or skill development opportunities for members. Support packages will also include access to New Holland equipment and guest speakers for events.
New Holland will be allocating three support packages every six months, with clubs able to apply by submitting an outline of their event idea.
