New Holland Agriculture was main attraction at the three-day Xinjiang Agricultural Machinery Fair, which was held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Urumqi, in May. The impressive exhibition display, live events and speaking contribution to the Xinjiang Development Forum centered the visitors’ attention firmly on New Holland.
Efficiency and high-quality silage with the FR Forage Harvesters
Center stage on the New Holland stand was the 591 hp
FR 600 forage harvester, at the top of the brand’s 3-model range, which also includes the 450 hp FR450 and 498 hp FR500. They are powered by engines specifically designed for forage harvesters that have outstanding power reserve and easily adapt to different operating environments.
The three FR models feature the very popular two-position VariFlow™ system, which makes it very easy and quick (less than 2 minutes) for operators to switch crops, altering the location of the blower according to the crop being harvested. When switching from corn to grass, the gap between the shredder roll and the fan is reduced by 60%, making it easy to collect the material blown by the fan.
The FR forage harvesters have a cutter head of 710mm diameter and 900mm width, and 750mm-wide crop processing rolls. They are available with a wide range of headers, including corn headers, pick-up headers and direct cut headers. They deliver industry-leading chop quality and consistency together with throughput without equal. They are the most efficient and productive machines on the market.
The FR Series is the latest generation in a product line that has made significant breakthroughs since New Holland introduced its first self-propelled forage harvester in China in 1998. Local farming cooperative takes delivery of new FR600 in official ceremony
During the Xinjiang Agricultural Machinery Fair, the New Holland stand also hosted the official handover ceremony of a new FR600 forage harvester to Mr Zhao Qian, representative of the Tongfa Silage Plant Professional Cooperatives from Hutubi county in Xinjiang, who received the ceremonial Golden Key from Mr. Luca Mainardi, CNH Industrial Country Manager for Agriculture and Construction equipment, China, and Mr. Li Kang, CNH Industrial Commercial Director, China.
Mr Mainardi commented at the ceremony: “As the rising incomes of Chinese people drive up the demand for high quality meat and dairy products, it becomes increasingly important to raise the efficiency of silage production for the livestock industry. New Holland is able to meet the diverse needs of different-sized farming operations with our 3-model range and our widespread network of professional service points. We have recently had the biggest single equipment order in Inner Mongolia, where a cooperative purchased seven FR500 forage harvesters. Today, we have another satisfied customer who has taken delivery of a new FR600 for their silage operation.”
The Tongfa cooperative produces silage for the Xiyuchun Dairy as well as beef and sheep livestock operations; productivity and quality are at the top of their requirements when purchasing a forage harvester: “The deciding factors in our choice of the FR600 were its high efficiency, the low cutting height and good cutting quality,” explained Mr Zhao Qian. “Also, our operators greatly appreciate the easy operation and high comfort levels of the cab.”
