STEWART AND LINDA ANDERSON
NEW HOLLAND ROTAVATOR RVM 205G
West Kype Farm is a family run business based in Strathaven, Lanarkshire established over 25 years ago. The farm offers a livery service for up to 37 horses while also
hosting competitions and training events for British Dressage and British show-jumping both affiliated and unaffiliated competitions on both their indoor and outdoor
arenas. “We train our own show jumping horses which compete both nationally and abroad, so it is important to keep our arenas as good as possible all year
around” Linda explained. “To keep the arena good enough to run competitions. We invested in a rotavator to loosen and break the ground up in the outdoor arena.
We found with the rain it compressed the sand and made it too firm for the horses” said Linda.
Having previously used contractors to loosen the arena ground. West Kype Farm invested in a New Holland rotavator RVM 205G in June 2019 following a demonstration
rotavator from their local New Holland dealer Bryson Tractors Ltd in January. The investment “has allowed us to continually use our outdoor arena in all climates now”
said Linda. The rotavator is also used in the indoor arena three times a year. West Kype farm have found the rotavator ‘’easy to use’’ on their New Holland tractor.
The rotavator is working on the ground surface in the outdoor arena which consists of silica sand, equestrian surfaces fibres and PVC granules. Linda explains that it
“does a great job and we couldn’t be without it now. Its saving us money by not using contractors also”.
