NEW HOLLAND DISCCUTTER™ F320P
Mr. Tim O’Connell from Kilbrittan, Co. Cork in the southwest of Ireland, took over the family farm of four generations approximately ten years ago. The farm comprises
of around 500 acres in total of which 300 acres in permanent grassland and 200 acres planted in cereals. The farm carries 120 dairy cows and 80 beef cattle. Tim and
the O’Connell family have been New Holland customers since 1996, running New Holland tractors, a New Holland combine harvester, a New Holland baler and most
recently purchasing their first front mounted disc mower conditioner a New Holland DiscCutter™ F320P in May 2019. Dealer support has been a huge contributing factor
for purchasing a New Holland branded front mower “I couldn’t fault dealer’s Mc & S Agri Sales Ltd as they have provided great backup” over the years.
The main reasons behind Tim’s decision was to “speed up operations” and “reduce diesel consumption”. The New Holland front mounted disc mower conditioner has
exceeded Tim’s expectations having cut around 400 acres in total this season. Tim has found that the mower is “very easy to drive” as he is running his front mower
and rear mower outfit with his New Holland T7.200 standard wheelbase tractor at ease on the rolling hills of his farm. The overall mowing performance is increased
as the DiscCutter™ F320P model benefits from a contour flotation system, this technology enables the mower to follow the ground accurately leaving a uniform stubble
height. The mower has “worked well in rough terrain with excellent flotation. I find the front mower floats lovely as it mows along” stated Tim. Following on from his
impression of the front mower this season and the low power consumption it requires to operate, Tim says he would be happy to purchase a New Holland rear mower
in the future. He believes his New Holland F320P is “as good as any other mower in the market”.
