winter service, avoiding any
surprises during operations
in 2015. On a combine
harvester, servicingwill
typically include a change
of gearbox oil on the straw
elevator and a check of
all sprockets, chains and
drive lines; check the
general condition of the
rotor, concave and sieves;
a check on knives, ring
and balance of the straw
chopper; assess the general
condition of the cleaning
shoe and sieves; changing
the oil and filters on the
engine; checking the
gathering chains, rollers,
knives, drive line, security
mechanisms and oil change
on the corn header.
On a tractor, servicing
will include checking all
electrical circuits, the
cabin air filter, the air
conditioning, heating
and ventilation system
and the brakes and
wheels; hydraulic circuits,
distributors and the front
lift operation need to be
tested; the couplingwill
be examined for wear, and
the cooling system checked
